The series “FRAGMENTS OF MUNICH.” is dedicated to the architecture of various buildings in the city. In 1888, this children’s asylum was built. Originally, the funds were intended for a celebration of the victory over France. However, as that would have been too extravagant, the gold was used for the construction of this children’s asylum instead—gold for gold, alluding to the yellow hues and the golden sunshine.
